Run these at scale
Export every match, with comments, on a schedule.

Reddit search operators
Reddit search accepts these operators. The builder above combines them for you. Reddit sometimes ignores operators on its new design. If a query returns odd results, use the Google link instead.
| Operator | What it does | Example |
|---|---|---|
title:word | The word must be in the post title. | title:"looking for" |
author:name | Posts by one user. | author:spez |
subreddit:name | Posts in one subreddit. | subreddit:SaaS |
selftext:word | The word must be in the post body. | selftext:pricing |
self:yes | Text posts only. Avoid it: in our tests Reddit then ignored the other terms. | crm self:yes |
site:domain | Link posts that point to a domain. | site:github.com |
"exact phrase" | Match the exact phrase. | "is there a tool" |
A OR B | Either term. Write OR in capitals. | crm OR "sales pipeline" |
NOT word | Remove posts with the word. Write NOT in capitals. | crm NOT hiring |
( ) | Group terms when you mix OR with other terms. | (crm OR erp) title:recommend |
Buying-intent phrases to search for
A lead on Reddit is a person who describes a need in public. These phrases show that a person compares options or is ready to pay:
- Asking: "looking for", "recommend", "any suggestions", "what do you use"
- Tool hunting: "is there a tool", "is there an app", "best software for"
- Switching: "alternative to", "switching from", "replacement for"
- Budget: "willing to pay", "worth paying for", "budget for"
Sort by New and reply within a day. Older threads rarely convert. Check each subreddit's rules on self-promotion before you reply.

Frequently asked questions
How do I do an advanced search on Reddit?
Type operators into the Reddit search box. For example, title:"looking for" crm finds posts with "looking for" in the title that mention crm. This builder writes the operators for you and opens the search on Reddit or Google.
How do I search Reddit by date?
Reddit search has a time filter: past hour, day, week, month, year or all time. Add t=week (or another value) to the search URL. Reddit applies it to the Relevance, Top and Comments sorts. For exact date ranges, use Google with site:reddit.com and the before: and after: operators, or export posts with the Reddit Scraper and filter by the created date.
How do I find potential customers on Reddit?
Search for phrases that people use when they are ready to buy: "looking for", "any recommendations", "alternative to" and "is there a tool", next to your product category. Sort by New so you reply while the thread is active. Pick Find buyers in this tool to get the queries.
Why does Google find Reddit posts that Reddit search does not?
Reddit search ranks posts with its own index and sometimes ignores operators on the new Reddit design. Google indexes Reddit pages separately. Run each query in both places, or export every match with an Apify Reddit scraper.
Is this Reddit search tool free?
Yes. The builder runs in your browser and does not call Reddit. It only creates search strings and links. To export the results with comments to JSON, CSV or Excel, or to run them on a schedule, use the Reddit Scraper on Apify. It costs a fraction of a cent for each result.
